An... elf done in a sort of wacky imitation of classic Japanese artists like Hokusai, as a gift for my dad, who'd probably be saying things like "kawaii" if he were any more obsessed with Japan. Sorry, make that respectfully fascinated with art and culture.
I like how the simplicity of the background helps insinuate a kind of paintery, stylish feel about it that speaks to me like it was drawn as a cultural wall mural or something of the sort. Hard to explain the vibe I receive from this, otherwise-- it's good.
nice, very evocative of the old woodblock style prints of the Meiji period. Part of me can't help but think she has a fox's tail hidden under that kimono.
